Focusing on the Great Creeds of the Episcopal Church: the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. The Book of Common Prayer describes them as “statements of our basic beliefs about God.” Where do they come from? By what process were they adopted? Do they continue to summarize our basic beliefs about God? We will also examine the Athanasian Creed, which proclaims the nature of the Incarnation and of God as Triune.
