Women's Bible Study

  • Parish House, Library 470 Maple Street Winnetka, IL, 60093 United States (map)

Women’s Bible Study: A Spiritual Walk with Scripture, Our Faith Tradition, and Our Lives is on Recess for the Summer. The book we will be studying is Bishop Mariann Budde’s “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith.”

This Spirited, interactive gathering invites all women to engage in study and discussion meant to deepen our relationship with God and one another. And to equip ourselves to encounter the challenges of our lives from a foundation of faith. Along with scripture, we use theology, our faith tradition, spiritual practices, and our lived experiences to reflect together on our faith stories. We each come with our own background comprised of our denominational formation and our unique experiences.

This is not your grandma’s Bible Study. You need not be able to recite chapter and verse. You are not expected to pass a litmus test of particular beliefs except to bring your open mind and heart and respect the dignity of all human beings. And you are not to “leave your brain at the door.” These gatherings are not lectures by an “expert” but opportunities to share thoughts, experiences, and wonderings in a caring circle of friends. Yes, and even doubts are welcomed!
