A note of thanks to our Christ Church friends from Richard and Elizabeth Clemmitt:
Elizabeth and I want to thank Christopher and the Christ Church community for the amazing celebration of our twenty-five years of music ministry at Christ Church that took place on Sunday, September 10. We were extremely touched by the outpouring of gratitude and love for us which we experienced that day. We were very pleased to see the large number of choristers who came to sing – both current singers and alumni – including the surprise appearance of our former rector and choir member of nineteen years, Ned Prevost. We also appreciated the opportunity to include in the service two of my original anthems plus one of the hymns I have written.
The presentations that followed the service were especially moving for us. Much time and effort must have been dedicated to collecting the fun sayings to make the T-shirt, “What Would Richard Say?” and to writing the hilarious words for “Psalm 151.” We also really appreciated the kind words shared about us by Christopher, Ned, Charlotte McGee, and Don Lloyd-Jones. And finally, there was the presentation of the outrageously generous purse to which over 170 families contributed! This gift could not have come at a better time for us since our two sons are both in college for this one year. Ethan is a senior and Adam is a freshman, both at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Our whole family thanks you all for your kindness and generosity!
Please know that we feel very blessed and grateful to God for these twenty-five years at Christ Church, and we are looking forward to many more.
With sincere gratitude and love,
Richard and Elizabeth Clemmitt
At Christ Church, we are blessed with a rich and highly-respected music tradition. We have excellent leadership, a magnificent pipe organ, and an extraordinary choir. Our worship life is enriched by our music program, and our music program enriches the lives of those who raise their voices or ring their bells to make glorious music together for our worship services.
