Want to help further??
If you have a garden and will be traveling this summer, Christ Church volunteers will happily come by and harvest from your garden while you’re gone and take the produce to the pantry rather than letting it go to waste!
You can also drop off excess garden bounty any time Monday through Wednesday at the New Trier Township Food Pantry, 739 Elm Street, Winnetka (again, please wash the produce and place root vegetables in resealable plastic bags once dry).
If you would like us to come harvest for you or if you would like to volunteer as a harvester, please contact Sarah Generes at email@example.com.
Thank you as always for helping support the ~100 families the Pantry serves each week!
The Pantry is located at the Township Office, 739 Elm Street in Winnetka, just east of Green Bay Road near the Metra station.
Established in 1965, the New Trier Township Food Pantry serves as a bridge between those who have the ability to give and those who are in need. Through donations from the community and volunteer efforts the shelves are stocked with a variety of canned and packaged food, frozen foods, useful paper goods, laundry detergent and toiletry items. A freezer is stocked with vegetables, meat, poultry, and nutritious frozen dinners. If you are a New Trier Township resident in need, or if you know of a resident in need, please call Jeanne Winsted Rosser, Social Services Administrator at 847-446-8201 for a confidential interview. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00AM until 5:00PM.
