Thursday – April 18 – Maundy Thursday – 7:00PM

If you have not been with us for one of these services before, please think about coming this year! We are trying some new and different things to celebrate this beloved night in Holy Week, which for many, is one of their favorite services of the whole year.

We will start with an Agape meal. “Agape” (Ah-GAH-pay) means “loving-kindness” in Greek. Modeled after “The Last Supper,” it is a simple meal with special prayers. Then we will process down to the sanctuary for choral Eucharist. The space will look different, with lots and lots of candles (like Taize services, if you have been to one of those) and a new and different seating arrangement. For anyone who wishes to participate, foot washing is part of this service, in remembrance of Jesus doing this for his disciples on that night.

Are you wondering what “Maundy” means? It comes from the Latin word for “commandment,” and refers to the commandment Jesus gave his disciples that night, to love each other as he has loved them.

Please join us! YOUR presence will complete the evening.
