Built in 1905, The Church on the Hill is a North Shore landmark. The adjoining churchyard is considered one of the loveliest memorial gardens in the country.

New Spaces
In 1998, Christ Church parishioners launched a $5 million Capital Campaign in order to renovate and expand our facilities at the Church on the Hill. The Campaign met a successful conclusion in the Fall of 2000.
Chancel
Our facilities there are now completely accessible with elevator stops at all levels. The altar rail is now on the floor level of the nave.

The new altar and altar rail, and the repositioning of the font are grounded in the centrality and accessibility of Baptism and the Eucharist.

Tiffany Window

The old altar now serves as facing for the retable and reredos, and the original cross given in memory of Emilie Hoyt Fox has been placed in the niche of the reredos.
The Tiffany window above the cross was given by the Fox family when the church was built in 1905.

The most dramatic structural changes are in the church undercroft and the spectacular cloister and connector joining the church to Church House (the former Humboldt House).   Connector Stairs
